This scrumptious walking tour commences at the Cacao Lab in Driver Lane, here we will indulge in there uniquely handmade creations using traditional French principles followed by a selection of a chai, chilli, salted caramel or Cacao signature hot chocolate shot.
Our next visit is the historical Royal Arcade, where our chocolate taste buds will be further tempted by the creations of Koko Black. If fortune is on our side, a chocolatier will display some of the chocolate making techniques they employ and may even come out to answer some questions.
After absorbing the magic and splendor of the Royal Arcade, our journey leads us to Haigh’s Chocolates on Swanston Street. Here we combine tastings with an insight into the history of the family who has dedicated its last 4 generations from 1915 to the making of chocolate.
With taste buds in check, we head off to 2Pocket Fair Trade Espresso Bar & Store with over 50 types of chocolates ethically sourced and produced. You will receive a guided tasting session combined with the stories of the growing and farming communities.
To make things even better, we finish our walking tour with afternoon tea at Theobroma (the botanical name for the cacao plant) Chocolate Lounge in Melbourne Central. The chance to recharge the batteries with a delicious drink and afternoon tea is on offer!
